Community Futures 2023 Conference

Local News

Greg, Siggi and Kaleb from Community Futures North Cariboo set out to Fort Saint John to the Peace Liard Community Futures Conference in September 2023. For three days the CFNC Team enjoyed motivational speakers, food, music, dance, entertainment and positive energy from like minded people who strive to make their business communities the best they can be!

As you may (or may not know) Greg Lawrence has been a part of Community Futures in the North Cariboo since 1987. He has made exceptional contributions not only to the North Cariboo but to the entire Community Futures network. His work was amplified after the 2017 wildfires as he has continuously been available to support the CF regions that have been directly affected by fires and floods.

Greg took the lead in the Mill Closure Program, which was the first rendition of an expanded Taking Care of Business program. He then took on the responsibility of applying for a Forestry and Economic Adjustment initiative. At the time, it was not known that due to the worst flood year in BC’s history negotiations with PacifiCan and CFBC would expand this initiative into the DREAI program.

Recognizing Greg for his outstanding qualities is a fitting tribute to his exceptional leadership and positive impact he has on CF in BC.

Congratulations to Greg and the CFNC Team for your dedication to guiding new and existing business to success in the North Cariboo and beyond.
