Wednesday - Networking and Team Building Day

Wednesday is about getting to know each other better personally and organizationally. We will engage you in some fun activities structured to stimulate engagement and team building among attendees.

Each CF will also have the opportunity to present success stories and/or obtain feedback on project ideas through informal presentations in a mini-trade show format. Poster sessions will allow each of us to share our best ideas with others, and to learn from other CFs.

The Opening Reception will be held at the Quesnel and District Museum Wednesday evening. Enjoy appies and cocktails surrounded by Quesnel history. If you are brave enough, share some stories with Mandy - the haunted doll.

Thursday- Rural Innovation Showcase

Through a facilitated Q&A, successful and innovative rural entrepreneurs from across BC will share their stories. Using a combination of real-life examples, workshops and tools, we will provide you with:

  • Inspiration - inspiring examples of innovative entrepreneurs who are building market-focused, scalable businesses in rural communities
  • Context - understanding the socio-economic trends that drive/support innovation
  • Ideas - examples of businesses and business models that could work in your community
  • Tools for supporting innovation - both for CF as an organization and for supporting clients

Thursday evening is about getting to know Quesnel. We will be working with local restaurants and entertainment venues to make sure they are ready to show you a good time.

Friday - Barkerville

We will bus from Quesnel Friday morning to Barkerville, where the CFDA AGM and Awards Luncheon will be held. We will also hold workshops for staff who are not required at the AGM.

Following the luncheon, there will be an early bus for those who are anxious to get home. We hope you will choose to stay, and join us for an amazing time exploring Western North America's largest historic site.
