Community Futures North Cariboo was excited to host Dragons' Den celebrity judge Manjit Minhas at the 'Lessons from the Den’ Event on January 25, 2024.

Minhas captivated the audience of over 200 people, sharing what has led her to success, and offering some insightful ways on how to turn your business dreams into reality. Starting as a Calgary teenager with just $10,000 and evolving into the architect of a worldwide empire selling beer, wine, and spirits, now valued at over $200 million, is truly remarkable!

During her keynote speech, she discussed the crucial role of having mentors and emphasized the importance of trust in business. She also shared insights on the "art of the pitch" and conveyed lessons learned as one of Canada's most successful entrepreneurs. Her key messages included the necessity of embracing change, promoting innovation, and encouraging disruption at every stage of business. Afterward, she took part in a comprehensive Q&A session with Frank Peebles, addressing questions from the audience that were collected prior to the event.

Community Futures Special Events Coordinator, Angela Zieske and General Manager Greg Lawrence highlighted that this marked the beginning of a Business Speaker Series by Community Futures, featuring upcoming guests ready to share their knowledge. The Team at Community Futures is eager to hear your business 'pitch' and is excited to help guide you to business success with their specialized planning, advisory and lending services
