Community Support 

Community Futures offers three Community Funding Programs:

Sponsorship Fund - up to $500

Facilities & Equipment Fund - up to $2500

Business & Entrepreneurship Fund - up to $5000  

Applications are evaluated by the Board of Directors based on the criteria of each Fund.

Projects will also be evaluated for the extent to which they provide marketing or promotional opportunities for Community Futures North Cariboo.

Examples of potential marketing opportunities include: 

  • Advertising / Promotional recognition (published event programs, articles, signage, social media)
  • Presentations Relationship building opportunities with potential business clients and key influencers (banks/accountants/lawyers/real-estate/BIAs/First Nations Groups)

Sponsorship Fund

Community Futures provides sponsorship of up to $500 in funding for projects or events that help make Quesnel a better place to live and/or support business and economic development.

Some examples of past projects include:

  • Women in Leadership
  • Quesnel Tillicum Society - Pow Wow
  • Billy Barker Days Society - Billy Barker Days Festival
  • West Quesnel Business Association - West Village Night Market
  • Girl to Girl 
  • Senior's Advocacy - Senior's Tea
  • Quesnel Agricultural Exhibition Association - Quesnel Fall Fair 
  • Quesnel & District 4H Show and Sale Awards

Facilities & Equipment Fund

Community Futures' Facilities & Equipment Fund provides up to $2500 in funding for projects that support business and employee recruitment and retention by making Quesnel a better place to live.

Some examples of past projects include:

  • Royal Canadian Legion Branch 94 - signage
  • BCSPCA - Accessibility Project
  • Barkerville - Recreation Amenities
  • Quesnel Canoe Club - Boat House
  • Quesnel & District Child Development Centre for - Accessible Playground
  • Baker Creek Enhancement Society - Westside Community Garden
  • Gold Rush Cycling - Bicycle Skills Park
  • Quesnel Motocross - Watering System
  • Cariboo Ski Touring Club - Elementary School Ski Program Equipment

Business & Entrepreneurship Fund

Community Futures' Business & Entrepreneurship Fund provides up to $5000 in funding for projects that directly support job creation and economic diversification in the North Cariboo region.

Examples include projects that resulted in:

  • The replacement of goods and/or services that are being purchased from outside of the region with locally-sourced goods and/or services,
  • Export opportunities for local business,
  • Increased tourism/visitor revenues,
  • New revenues and/or cost savings for business, and/or
  • Increased business and entrepreneurial skills.

Some examples of past projects include:

  • North Cariboo Agricultural Marketing Association - Agricultural Awareness and Marketing Project 
  • Quesnel & District Chamber of Commerce - Home and Outdoor Adventure Show 
  • Island Mountain Arts - Art is Your Business Conference
